A couple questions

I am a noob here and the questions may have been asked before. I tried to search function but I doesnt work properly

1. What changes are coming to the focus? Is there going to be a body style change like the one seen in the UK?

2. Why did Stop making a sport model, by this I mean, Why did they reduce the HP so much on new models.

3. Are they any plans to use that 5 cylc application in an American Focus?

---Stuck on which new car to buy next year, I want a nice focus and I want to buy American but I dont think I want to take a loss in power by buying the USA ST hatchback

I have to sell it in July, Im moving out of the country for a year.
Im actually more curious of the upcoming changes rather than which car to buy when I return

The closest you will get to this is a Volvo C30.

2008 model year means no hatch, no ST, no 2.3l, no fun.

Yeah...the answer to your 3 questions are:
1-Yeah it'll change, but no, not even close to the MK2
2-Have no idea, there is somebody inside Ford that has an ass for a head.
3-Not in this life.

the way it was explained to me, was that the UK mkII version is the Mazda3, Volvo s40 platform. so you got 3 makers (all either owned by or invested heavily into by Ford) using the same platform, and the MKII is one step up in the type of car and the step underneath it is the Ford Ka small car. We dont have that small ar here so they wont let the Focus move up a segment in the marketplace. It would compete directly with the volvo and mazda and Ford dosent need that. its loosing money enough as it is. The US focus is one step under the mazda 3 and volvo 40 series cars here and is in a much less competitive segment......think cobalt.

I agree with Egz on this one. The '08 model will seriously be less fun. a softe suspension and a taller final drive gear makes for a less fun car no matter how much stifer the chassis is. Less response from steering input. less response from the engine cause of the tall gears. talk about killing off one of the last few fun cars Ford....heck....america....ever made.

the problem with making such a hot hatchback in the US is that well....the UK is taxed so much that people stay with small cars and then want all the goodies for hteir small cars. whereas here in the US were not taxed in the same way and therefore if you wnat the performnance and goodies you just step up a market level and buy.....a fusion.....i dont like it but thats the way the general population thinks around this hemisphere.
