Arrow Oh Oh Oh Oh Hey! Another Question!!!

Ok, so would it be possible to take my engine out and replace it with a smaller, lighter, motorcycle engine that produces like 200 hp? I heard they did that at Disney world for a stunt show. what do you think?

you could do it, but it'd be difficult, and kinda pointless.

just turbo the crap out of ur engine.

I believe alot of Honda people do what's called a mini-me swap where for "cheaper" quick power they'll swap out one D-series (single cam) motor for a different one that's smaller but makes more power. I don't remember what motors though. Unfortunatly we don't have that many different types of motors from ford that would give us the ability or convenience to do so. Ultimatly I think it'd be better to save your money cause the bigger "slower" motor probably has more ultimate power potential than anything smaller.

I agree with babyface.

I think he's got something more to the tune of a 1.3L turbo Busa engine. But for the cost, you'll end up spending twice what it would cost to get a fully built, turbo'd, and tuned engine from Tom at Focus Power and Clint at Super Snail Fab

I dunno about this... 200 hp and what, 50tq? Remember... RPM makes horsepower, Torque wins races.

50tq is NOT gonna haul your car's ass. Talk to Tom about this.

I guess my google search just brought up a 200hp v-twin made by Enginuity, but its 147 cu.in. = ~2.2 liter. Kinda defeats the smaller, lighter purpose. I guess MAYBE that one would work. Just be careful about tq numbers, as I don't see ANY quoted on the google search.

you must've missed that part of the show which mentioned the cars used in the stunt show are opal's not a focus a big weight difference when you factor in that the car is stripped down and uses a fuel cell. But they are awesome with that custom e-brake setup and over inflated tires that allow them to do crazy stunts.

I think I know what your talkin about. My friend Randy wants to mount that setup into his MR-2 Spyder. If I'm not mistakes it's 2 motorcycle engines matted together that put out def more hp and tourque than that. it's like a v-8 basicly. I'll have to ask him for the link sometime if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if you could get it into the focus since were fwd although if you confert it to rear, or mount the engines in the back somehow it might work. I have no idea how you'd get it into the back though lol.

the problems that you'll have will be:

mounting the engine.
finding a transmission that works properly.
plumbing the engine
and last but not least, mating the electrical systems.

it'd be interesting, but not really worth the effort, or expense.

if you want more power and less weight, tune the stock engine, and gut the interior

or by a Cosworth prepped 4cyl racing engine. theyre very light and make upwards of 200hp, andhave at least 150 ftlb of torque, lol.
