Unlimited Car Washes?

I have a 2004 Ford SVT Focus and the last time I was at my local car wash , they gave me a brochure that mentions unlimited car washes for a monthly fee. Being in Minnesota and having all that salt from the roads all over your car causing rust, would it be a good idea to take this offer? Is there such a thing as too many washed? Can overwashing actually cause rust? I think it's a good deal, but I don't want to cause more problems then I'd solve with the winters and summers of Minnesota. Any opinions would be appreciated!

-Dan

automatic car washes can cause minor scrathces and dont do a great job.

if you're on the go alot and you dont mind minor scratches then go fr it, should save you some headache.

not sure about rust or over washing, its not my area, but i woud assume water is better for your paint than salt is!

He's right. They have also been known to rip off door handles, antennas and mirrors. I'm not at all a fan and have never used one. If its realllly cold, like 20 or below, I don't wash no matter what. But if its warmer than that, I'll just get some gloves and go to the regular car wash, spend about $2 bucks and just spray the salt and grime off.

Moisture and salt are your worst enemy when it comes to metal. Washing too much gets into small areas of your car and stays there. Especially in this weather where there is no sun to evaporate the moisture. Not washing the salt away is also deadly, as you know. But I would wash it once a week just to get the salt off.

....or move to Mexico.

This depends on the TYPE of carwash it is, if its a touchless (powerspray instead of turning brushes) car wash then it really shouldn't effect the paint.

Been there, had that happen. It was suppose to be a touchless car was, just the spray type. Well it failed and the arm didn't rotate and ended up ripping my door handle off, busting my side mirror and nearly ripping it off the car.

Needless to say I don't trust car washes anymore. I personally would just spray it myself when the salt got too heavy on the car. If you feel like taking a chance though I'd go ahead. I'm not saying it will fail, but it has happened before

If its mister car wash it works pretty good. It is not touchless though. But never created any problems. One tip get the premium wash packege its worth it. Used to be wash my old ranger and current focus every other day in Eden Prairie.

Yes, it's Mister Car Wash. I don't see a premium here. I see

Drive Thru Express - $19.99
Gold Class Express - $29.99
Original Full Serve - $34.99
Gold Class Full Serve - $49.99

I was considering the $29 or $34 one. So you think it's ok?

I was using the $34 and it worked great. I think you get everything except for tire shine. I could be wrong I droped it about six months ago memory not to good. Due to cash flow. But I deffinetly got my money's worth.

Where are you located? I see you are new you might want to check out WWW.MNFOCUS.COM.
