Desire to learn

I'm a 02 Focus SVT owner looking to try to learn how to play under the hood and where ever else on my car. Right now my knowledge isn't all that great at all but I'm not sure where to begin (or especially how for that matter). Does anyone know of maybe a good book that would help on basic terminology or a website that has some really good "how to's"? I really enjoy taking things apart and all but right now my SVT IS my transportation, so I have to be slightly more careful in my learning process since w/out being able to drive it, I'm pretty much screwed. Right now the most I've done to a car is an oil change which to me really isn't all that much. I have changed a busted fog light on my SVT (woopy!)...it's sad to think that something such as that makes me feel like I just accomplished a great feat in the "troubleshooting" of my SVT. Oh and I'm not all that bright with some of the terminology/acronyms and such so please bare with me if i respond to some statements with 'wah??'

Jopala
Let the fun begin...

I just recently replaced my wiper switch and felt a huge feeling of accomplishment afterwards. I know exactly what you mean. Good luck with your car!

Jopala, im right with you. I came to this site in hopes for gaining knowledge about my focus, and cars in general for that matter. This is a great place to start, Just browsing around i've had any questions I would have asked, answered, most in detail. There are some A-holes lingering amongst the crowd. but for the most part, if you ask, it will be answered seriously.

Good luck, hope ya find what your lookin for!

Hey, this site is a great place to learn how to do things. They have a list of "how-to's" which some have good photos etc. When I first changed my oil it felt good, and when I debadged my car that was exciting! It's also my first car and it's so great to see it changing because of work you put into it. Well, welcome and hope you learn so much from everyone here.
