why me?

heres the deal..i have a 05 zx4 and the trunk leaks and has leaked since march 06! i have taken the car to the dealership a total of 7 times to get this problem resolved and still not fixed. the last three times the car was actually sent to a body shop. the workmanship on the rear of this car is awful.the trunk leaks, the bumper is way out of line, the trunk lid is sunk down on one side, and when you lift the trunk lid there is some sort of substance(looks like silicone)all over the place. the car has never been wrecked!right before x-mas we contacted the district ford service rep. and he tells me to give them one more shot at fixing it! i said ok but the car doesnt leave the dealership to go to the body shop and i also said if the car isnt fixed i am filing aburtration papers(lemon law). take the car in the day after x-mas. dont get the car back until jan. 5. it rains all day the next day and guess what its still leaks. we call the rep back again and tell him and he says give it another try and by this time we get the papers for aburtration and it states that we only have 18 months to file a claim it we are on month 17 so it sounds to me this guy is dicking me around so we run out of time! we already filled out the paper work and faxing it tomorrow.the rep is suppose to call us back tomorrow to see if we want to take the car back in or not. the rep also said that if we file the paper work that they(assuming ford) would throw up red tape and find something wrong and wont go through with the aburtration. i dont know what else to do so any advice would be greatly appreciated! and please no smart ass remarks b/c i am furious enough as it is!

File the arbitration papers. They can throw up red tape, but the papers legally get things started. You may want to consult with a lawyer...

that's nuts man! There are a lot around here, but then again I'm close to chicago. Good luck gettin it fixed! I know my dad tried filing lemon law with Chevy cause his Astro is a total POS. You JUST had trunk problems. Lol here is one of the worse problems on his van. The driveshaft was bent from the factory. Wow how does that happen?!? also his tires wear extremely fast like they aren't mounted balanced or even aligned right yet the dealer said they were ok. He has been in arbitration for about a year I think and he has yet to get a new van and I don't think he is. but good luck!!!
-Joe
PS: There were way more problems than this I was just listing some of the more serious ones

Are you SURE the car has never been wrecked? Because it sounds like Ford dropped it off the delivery truck or something, and as I understand things if they can repair the car "like new" they can sell it for new.
And that silicone you mention being all around sure makes it sound like it's been worked on....

Why not try another dealership to get the work done?

Then you're okay. If they find something wrong you'll definitely be fine since it's been to the dealer numerous times already. He just sunk himself.
