Does Ford Management See Our Input Here?

Do you think they have noticed or they hear the disappointment the overwhelming majority of us have for the new Focus? By my count it is over 70% disapproval.

Do they look at our discussions? If they don't they are idiots.

Can the design chief for this project. I am sure he or she is a fine human being. As a designer they have missed the mark so much that it is scary. And the Focus consumer gets the shaft again.

No. They look at a room full of people they dragged out of a mall somewhere that is the "demographic" they think will buy this car who took their stupid survey.

They may see it, but to the small majority of compact car owners that is represented here, its irrelevant. We are the tuners, the modifiers, the new era hot rodders. Ford is largely unconcerned with us.

That is great and unfortunately true.

Of course they do, you know Ford has hundreds of employees sitting at desk searching the net for all of our opinions.

Hell no they don't hear us, they want one thing. They want to make a generic car that will appeal to LOADS of people not just the modifiers, and not just the rental fleet people either although thats their prime goal I believe.

Its obvious with the dismantlement of SVT and the cut off of the SVT focus along with the no more available 2.3 ST that Ford has NO desire to appeal to the tuner generation and instead what seems to be more like everyone BEFORE our generation.

Same here. I talk to our regional rep all the time and tell him about things I read here and on other message boards. He says he passes them on to his bosses, but I wonder sometimes.

When the new Focus came out here, most people were unsure, or just plain didn't like it.

Now though, I think it looks great, not in standard spec, but with a bit extra beef.

As far as execs taking notice. Over here we have a program called Top Gear, you guys get it on BBC World I think. Anyway, if Clarkson says a car is crap on that show, it can be a disaster. He is that big here.
