A need for atitude changes???

---Recently I have been watching people just hound each other, about the best exhaust, spring, color, headlight..... etc. I don't feel that this was the purpose of FOCUSFANATICS.COM. We're getting away from the fact that we are all focus owners, who love our cars very much. What I'm kinda saying is that, we're kinda all on the same team, none of us, (well maybe some) are honda owners, or SRT-4 owners...etc.
---I ussually read the new threads everyday, just because I love and enjoy the new topics that people bring up. But what I don't enjoy is people just being plain mean to each other. Or litigating their topic. Yes everyone has their opinions, but once you voice it, their is no reason to argue it. Your supposed to post how you feel and thats it. There is no reason for people to argue with each other.
---I just thought I'd share my thoughts, maybe I'm wrong and if so then thats the last your hear about it, but if not, let me know and maybe we all can help and change the atitude on these forums because if we don't, then people will just leave.
-Thanks guys!

-By the way, if this hits people on a personal level, then i'm sorry, that wasn't my purpose.

^^^Agreed, it's actually not bad at all. Like SVT guy stated, look how many differnt people post on this site. A couple years ago it was much worse... Some of the old timers know what/who I'm talking about. The mods will/and have taken care of the problem childs, just sit back and enjoy the threads.

I'm not entirely sure why it is that some key topics (SVT vs. ST, Honda product engineering, etc.) tend to explode like they do. My general rule of thumb is that people don't take offense at something unless they feel like they have something to defend. I don't feel the need to defend my car, but for instance, I've often jumped into heated threads that I feel are needlessly bashing something that really ought to be properly defended. Most recently that's been Honda products, but that's just the recent lightning rod. It's hard to remain objective at all times, for some of us it appears to be quite hard.

Overall a good group of people here though. I've seen a few more level-headed in some other enthusiast groups, but not by much.

I havent seen that many people that have "bad attitudes" on here. There are a couple, but not nearly as many on other forums that i have seen. Overall its a pretty decent forum. The ones that are "dicks", are usually delt with pretty well.

Agree with Robzor. While there are some bone heads that rear up around here once in a while, it could be way worse. Check out the forums at mp3car.com for an example.

Things could be better of course- snapping at newbies for example. Everyone was a newbie at one point.

New to automotive forums?

Actually this forum is little different than the other forums I'm on (one of which I've been on for 6+ years). It's quite common for people to gush over a product that they have and consider it as "best" since they spent a lot of money for it and they are, in a way, justifying their purchase. It happens, get over it.
