Focus Fanatics!! Help

Ive been in the market for a new focus for some time now. I think i know what im looking for in the car. But i know you are all "focus fanatics. I just want a few things to watch for. I know basics like, rust and all that. But what are some real problem spots on the vehicle? I went and took a look at a focus i found in the paper, but wasnt able to buy, seller said he was going to put it on ebay, so he informed me soon as he put it on. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=200061209033 It was really nice, but neither of us could tell if it was custom paint or not. Everything on this car was flawless. Ive test drove a few SVTs, but this one took the cake. And according to kbb its worth 10k$ with out all the upgrades. Well i hope you can help. Thanks for your time

Where to begin.... First off the car has 81,000 miles(quite a few)! Also a few things that have to go would be the rims, the exhaust, the monster tach, and get a new hood! After that you might have a semi decent car!

One thing to watch for is the clutch. make sure that it dose not chatter and then go away when you push in the clutch. (TSB- prema. clutch wear) Also I would look at the person who had it B4 you! Make sure they are not like 16 or something and beat the piss out of it!! Thats my .02!!!

SVT IMO are deff. worth the money, but I would look for one with the EURO package!! Either way its not a bad car (once some things are taken off the car) but you'll be happy either way!

yeah im with my 2003svt. the rims are absolutly hideous, the hood is ruined by the hood pins and im not to keen on fart can exhausts. 81k is a lot of miles. ive got an 02 and im just about to turn 60k. i would also look for an eap svt.

When they took me for a ride in it, i was really impressed. Im really not a fan of the whole ricing thing. But this seemed to have been done right. Im just looking for an ecomonical car on milage, sporty, and pretty quick. And that car is perfect. At least it doesnt have a body kit right :)

02's are the first year of any SVT....from what ive seen and read here on the forums, the 02s are the worst as far as problems go (becuase its the first year for that car and the bugs arent worked out) I agree that an SVT is worth the money, maybe look around for a newer one with fewer miles.

Here is a pic of mine!! Its a 2003 and I am just about to turn over 33,000 miles on mine!! You can tell the EURO package by the black recaro seats, the HID headlights, and the multi spoke rims (usally in dark argent color)

I would say if your going to get a SVTF, get a nice one!!
