Question 5 Speed To Auto???




ok my friends dad has a 93 ford escort wagon that is a 5 speed and he is wanting to give it to his daughter but the problem is she cant drive stick.. so he asked me how hard or impossible/ meaning exspensive it would be to convert a stick into a automatic? if theres anyone out there that can help with any suggestions please pm me thanks...

too much trouble if you ask me. It would be much easier to teach her how to drive a manual. We had to teach my sister too. And now she loves it, doesn't want an auto again.

Yeah...no kidding. By the time you'd get done with swapping transmissions and all the parts that would go along with it, your friend's dad would just be better off buying her another car with an auto. If it was me, I'd say either learn how to drive stick or don't drive at all. It kills me when kids complain when they're given a car...

5spd is the way to go. i had an auto in one car, and hated it, i felt it made driving boring...

Converting a '93 Escort wagon would probably cost a lot more than the car is worth .
