Competition

What cars would you guys consider the competition for the svt in its price range? I was thinkin of lookin for a new car in June when i finish my Military Basic Training. my first thought was to trade in my SE for a new svt (starting at about 28k canadian..). Lookin around the ford website i noticed the mustang starts about 23k, and the convertable has a base price of 28k. i'm thinkin if i'm gonna spend 30k on a car, i'll take a Mustang over a focus anyday (sorry guys). what else is there for 'sportier' cars in that price range (lets say under 30k canadian.... whatever that works out to for you guys.) Only others i could think of were Toyota Celica, or a Hyundai Tiburon .... oh, an' a neon (sx-whatever, still a neon. ) I'm lookin for somthing in a 'sportier' 2 door coupe. right now, if i stick with a focus, i'm thinkin i'll most likely go with a zx3 premium (start about 18k canadian), but i'm not a huge fan of hatchbacks... anything else you guys could recomend?

please dont hit me....

edit: oh, i left out sunfire/ cavalier, cuz i dont really consider those cars.

I pity the fool who gets a V6 Mustang and thinks its sporty. You'll understand why some day.
Here's some of the competition. I'm not sure how much canadian denars (or whatever your form of currency is) they cost.
Dodge Neon SRT4
Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
Mazda 3
Mazda Protege Mazdaspeed
Mazda 6
Hyundai Tiburon GT V6
Saturn Ion Redline, not out yet
VW GTI VR6
VW GTI 1.8T
VW anything 1.8T or VR6
Toyota Celica GT-S
Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V
Nissan Sentra SE-R
Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS
Honda Civic SI
Toyota Corolla XRS, I don't think its out yet
Toyota Matrix XRS
Acura RSX Type S
Mini Cooper S
Pontiac Vibe GT

The competitors most often compared to the SVT are the Sentra and Protege. These cars are very similar in performance.

Yep, The V6 Eclipse isn't a bad car. It's not the top dog but its an option. One of my friends has a 4cyl eclipse, 3rd generation, and he flipped when I told him what I paid for my car. Poor guy, he didn't do his research. One of my buddies had a V6. It was very smooth.

oh.. right you are. on the Canadian Subaru web site, the WRX is only listed under impreza... if you look under Impreza WRX, it only shows the sti.... my mistake.

either way, its still 35k canadian euros..... too rich fer my blood.
