Read if you plan on upgrading to the SVT rear sway

As some of you know I've been hellbent on finding an SVT rear sway to swap into my PZEV. Well I was talking with a buddy of mine who owns an SVT, and he said the bar is the same diameter as the stock ZX3, and that Ford achieved a stiffer rear end by "keying the bushings" on the bar. I'm not sure exactly what he meant by that, but he went on to say this was why he didn't switch to poly mounts for the rear sway - it would apparently lose its extra stiffness. If this is the case then I'll be going for the Progress bar. Just FYI for anyone looking to upgrade.

You would be surprised how tight a car will handle if you do a complete eurethane bushing set and a spring/dampner set.

And the Progress is 21% stiffer than the SVT, and the Eibach is 18% stiffer than the H&R.
So Egz was def right.........good thing to know knight...thanks for the info...............

Peace.................

I'm fairly certain the SVT rear sway bar is 21mm. I had one, and I swore I measured it.

I put the svt sway bar on my pzev and like it . I also installed svt springs. There is stiffer stuff around but I wanted some compliance left in my suspension especially since I run 17-40s.Also I think its cool that if I brought my car in for warentee work I wouldnt take any guf for doing mods as its all Ford stuff. Also Ford has some good engineers who came up with a nice car like the focus and svt and I like using that pool of talent.
