Just got back from the dealer. It seems in the entire region, there isn't a single 5 speed hatch with 201a and nothing else. They all have heated seats and/or a moonroof. Don't like heated seats, won't pay 500 bucks for them. And as much as I've enjoyed the moonroof on my '93 SHO, 20 years later it doesn't seem like such a good idea.

Price they gave me to order the car is $18935. That includes a $2000 Ford rebate and $1700 dealer discount. Plus $399 doc fee, which seemed high. I had them remove the $299 security fee, for etched glass. That price is a factory order, not dealer stock.

A loan from my bank would be at 3.74%, the dealer 2.9%.

Good deal?

First time I drove one today.

Loved it!

Not impressed with the power, low on torque. (I drive a diesel all day. I know torque.) I'm definitely someone who belongs in the ST. On the other hand, with insurance companies increasingly calling the shots, I can't afford to risk owning an ST. I told the salesman if I sign the papers, we're taking one for a ride.

Other than that, no complaints. I drove one with a base interior. The $2600 for 201a seems reasonable...17", rear discs, and much nicer looking seats and steering wheel. But the car was a blast to drive, even if merging into fast rush hour traffic isn't it's strong suit. $18,935 seems reasonable, but might I do better?

Math isnt adding up, So MSRP should be $24,025. $3,700 off should net $20,325??

They are ordering a white manual hatch with 201a and no other options. That was around $22,600, minus $3700

Glad you liked it. Seems like an ok deal, not a steal or anything.

And mine doesn't have any trouble merging into traffic, or leaving it in the dust...

It's a lot slower than my SHO, and slower than the 4.0 Cherokee as well. Of course, I'm not expecting 16mpg, so it's all good.

I'll do a K&N or similar intake, and probably exhaust in a few years.

Makes much more sense!

What about a 2013 with 201a white, winter pkg and ext. protection pkg for $19,149 plus tax? Or $18,649 if you go with FMC std rate

Good price. I'd like heated mirrors, but don't like heated seats. And I really want a 2014.

I'm wondering if I should try for a better deal tomorrow when I give them a deposit, or is it not worth it? They were pretty decent today, better than most dealerships I've been to. The manager did come over when I said I wanted to sleep on it. I guess they hate to see you leave. But I'm about 95% ready to buy. I am also willing to haggle a better price, within reason, and willing to walk away. Sounds like building it I won't see it till late October anyway.

Can't really hurt to try.
It does really sucks to wait forever on a ordered car.
