2007 ZX3 question

Hey guys.......This is my first post but Im not a stranger to aftermarket modifications. Ive had eight cars and this is my first 4 cylinder front wheel drive. After two T-Birds, one Firebird and several SUV's, the price of gas has forced me into a 2007 ZX3 Focus with an automatic transmission.
Now, I cant keep things stock so I called Ford Racing about their blower kits and was told that they are not compatible with my year model. Is my car even worth dropping money into? How well does the motor take to mods? I dont want to spend several thousand bucks and only get 20 HP.
Ive been checking into nitrous kits and read an article from Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords where they hooked up a 75 HP shot on a ZX5, but later had to upgrade the transaxle. How would my car take a 50 HP wet shot? Do you recommend a push button activation or what? Thanks.

why get a 2007? the older models are compatable, unless your against buying a used car...

i suggest picking up an older SVT, and then drop a turbo kit into it..ive seen some 9, 10 second foci...

Focus' take nitrous pretty decent at just a 50 shot, but anything higher and you'll want to change out the pistons, from what i understand.

the older models are tried and true for mods, look into one of those

if he's already got the car why get an older one....and yes the duratec engine is worth the money, but they are relatively new , so aftermarket will pick up better soon.

I got the 07 because of the $3000 in rebates I qualified for. Since the blower is out of the question and I am not going to pay Jackson Racing to modify it.....anyone have an automatic they use nitrous on? Ford Racing says the 4.08 gears are compatible, so thats an option. What do you know about the aluminum heads and new pistons Ford Racing sells?

If you were looking into forced induction, you better look at this: http://www.focussport.com/turbocharger.htm

Quality turbo kit that will give you the power you are looking for.

I got an auto because there were two ZX3's on the lot and they were all autos. My trade-in was literally falling apart and I needed something that day.

All the turbos Ive found started out at $3500 and went up from there. Anyone here change their gear ratio or upgrade thier cylinder heads? Or use nitrous with an automatic?

The Focus Sport turbo kit costs as much as the supercharger from Ford Racing, and if you go elsewhere, only a couple hundred of dollars more. Give Randy a call, and he'll tell you more about it.

As for gear ratios, you have a 3.82:1 final drive, and the only other sane option is a 4.06:1 gear ratio. Those run about 150 dollars, but then the installation will several hundred. If you planned on doing that, do a LSD as well, since you already have the transmission open, might do it all at once. You can get a Torsen for around 600. However, if you plan on going with forced induction, 4.06 gears may be a little much.

As for cylinder heads, the 2.0 head already flows nicely (and the 2.3l head a little more). A head in itself won't show much gains, but if you put some hot cams on it, and up the compression, then it will really shine.
