Mods & gas mileage

How does various mods affect gas mileage under normal driving conditions? Due to ever rising gas prices, what modifications actually increase gas mileage, or decrease gas mileage, especially FI.

Intake and a cat back will increase your gas mileage, especially if you can keep your foot out of the throttle with the new sound. Cams, cam gears, headers, flex pipe, FI, will all to some degree affect your gas mileage, especially FI.

dont push to hard with your right foot. thats the best gas saving mod. But actually mods, an intake, and exhaust as mentioned, a good ECU reflash not only gains performance but yeilds better MPG. With my old setup, CAI, TB, and Hypnotic reflash i got a best of 35mpg. Now i get 28-30 at best.

if your worried about the milage its like bigred03 said be nice to the pedal and all will be fine there are lots of mods that can help those first being the best being cia,a good cat-back, and a good set of tires also helps and check the psi every week buy good gas and dont keep alot of junk in the car that also helps also dont use 3rd gear on the highway that helps too and also use the best oil you can afford

with my mods. cams, intake, header and exhaust I lost about 30 miles per tank.
and thats with my foot doing the driving. when I let myself drive reasonably I
only lost a couple of miles per tank. damn right foot LOL

but cant complain, still get better MPG than those big trucks and suvs!!!!

^^ that's what always calms me down. I'm doing better than those who drive Blazers, Envoys and the like...

but still, when you look at those small Fords that are like Geos and Geos themselves...it's too much..
