what focus should i buy?

Hey I'm Zack and this is my first post and hopefully not my last. I am lookin at a few foci zx3's and i need your input.

The first is a 00 5spd with 39k on it. comes with air, power windows and cd player. they offered 6,000 to me for it. With 2500 down, i can get it and a 4yr/48k warranty for 114/month for 48 months.

the other option is wether or not to get a new one. i REALLY want a tach but dont want to spend the extra 2000 to get a SE with the SE sport group package. air is important but not totally important.

The last focus is a 03 with 20k on it. it was a ford company car. Its cons are it has power nothing, only A/C. It looks like someone tried to pry the passenger door open like they locked their keys in it. Besides that, it is fine. Oh, moisture got into the passenger side headlight. So far with 2500 down, they offered it to me for 149/mo for 60 months.

So if any of you guys can give me advice, please give me some. I'll greatly appreciate it

Zack

edit

a new focus se with the se package ...
3500 down, it comes out to be 190 for 60 months or 165 for 72 months
it also comes with power windows, locks, cruise, tilt wheel.

I Would stay away from 2000 if your budget / situation permits..

they had tons of recalls and other problems... it was the first year, and it didn;t go well.

if you can find one.. get a 2002+ ...

is your bdget under 150 a month? that cold be tough, but I would be sure that Pittsburgh should provide ample suply of used Foci.

II think you can do well with a used one - no need to buy a new one - because Foci lose value quite fast, it is very cheap to buy one used.

Give us more info of what you are loking for and we should be able to help you ..

Post more info

yeah i researched and saw the 00's have TONS of problems. what makes it hard to choose between new and used is the 2500cash back, the 500 ford finanching and the 500 for college grad. thats 3500 for free! haha. I am still calling places for stuff. I can afford 200/month but it'd be pushing it.

200 a month for a new one will be tought .. I had a new one that I bought last summer during family plan+ 2000 + 500 college grad... it was 14.3 out the door and I paid about 350 a motnh for 60months (but my interest was enormous)...

if you can almost fit in the a new one, find a 2004 with the 2.3l Duratec.. that will run about 8-10k and you will have the best non-svt focus produced.. for less than new....

THE 03 SEEM TO BE YOUR BEST BET MOST OF THE THINGS YOU LISTED WRONG WITH IT CAN BE EASILY FIXED. AS FOR WANTING A TACH YOU CAN ALWAYS GO WITH AN AFTERMARKET.ONE QUESTION IS THERE A WARANTY OF ANY KIND ON THE 03?

I don't know if this will help but I just bought my ZX3 last week so maybe the numbers will be of assistance to you. It's an 03, 2.3L AT with 34500 miles. It has 6 disc cd player, front and side airbags and moonroof and all the other goodies. I got it for 10,000 out the door at a dealership. Good luck on your quest.

i CAN get a brand new SE with the sport package for $190/60months. Thats an option. The car itself is 15.9. with rebates it goes to 11.7. and with my down payment, it goes to $9181. I could go to another dealer and get that cheaper probably.

Fiend
Yeah the recalls dont appear to be anything super major. but the fact they did have many problems. I have the # of the previous owner who I can call about the car if the dealer says its ok. As for the warranty.. its not certified so its 1 month, 1000miles... i can buy more of a warranty though for about 15/month.

Focusman
There are no hertz places near me

Darkhorsey
Did you get it for 10000 financed (as in your payment times months)? The 03 guy wants $149/60months which is 9000... this is after a $2500 cash down.. which makes it sorta expensive.. he would have to come down a great deal.
