Low Tire Pressure

I've noticed a fare loss of my ride these past few months so I went to check the pressure....24 PSI . That's amazing considering the recommended level is actually 34 PSI. So I filled up the tires all the way around....the lowest being around 22 PSI. Now, I went and tested out the ride and it ran a little smoother. Although, I should say I really didn't notice alot besides the cornering was hella tighter.

I know the main reason it loses pressure is do to normal circumstances. I'm glad to have all tires being close to the same amount 22-24 PSI, so I know all of the tires are okay. Hoping the cold isn't harming the tires. Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen a drastic change in their tire pressure.

Mine were down to 21 (but then I've had the car since beginning of August) but they got filled up to within .5 of 34 the other day, they feel better... how often do you guys usually go til you need to refill them. I've never done it before this once.

Usually it's because the tire isn't of that great of quality or wasn't mounted properly. Another good reason is because of ambient temperature. When the temps raise and lower to the extremes it's a huge wear and tear on your tire because of the expanding and contracting.

I always change the air in my tires at least twicw a year. j/k

I check at every oil change, or if it feels like its pulling to one side and rotate every other oir change.

I noticed that I had a low tire today when I was getting ready to go to work. I got the guage out, and it had 23 lbs in it. Holy crap! Gotta start checking them more often!

they say check them every week.. I try to at least every two weeks. Tires are actually slightly porus... they all leak a little. It is normal. that is why they recommend checking them often. like you said.. it is good all 4 were the same. No abnormal leaks for you

The cold will always lower your tire pressures, and the heat will raise them. [Take your tire pressure after doing a few hours of highway driving in the summer, you'll see ~70PSI or so.] Donno if you're anywhere near the Northeast, but all those days w/ a HIGH of Zero will kill your tire pressure. Vanace is right about checking them every week.

I've heard you should fill them when they are as cold as possible is that true? Like I drove less than a mile to fill them up, is that the most accurate way to do it? I wouldn't want to after the highway if they were already reading 70!
