xero, do you mean can one dealer look up work done at another Ford dealer? If so, I think they can. I don't know if you have a log-in at http://myford.fordvehicles.com but that's what I'm talking about. I registered my Focus (via its VIN) and it's been to the dealer twice, once for an alternator and once for oil change, and its visits are listed on there- and it was 2 different dealers. There aren't many details, but I'm sure a dealership can find out more by tracking your VIN.

Yes. all dealers are tied into the Ford Service Network. When you go in for service they input your vin# and then can get a complete history of warranty work. They also get what is called a oasis report, that will tell them the registered owner, when the car was placed in service, and if any outstanding recalls effect your car. Routine maintence like oil changes are not shared, only warranty work.
Hope this answers your question.

Weird, under my Service Log it cites "Scheduled Maintenance" on the date I got its first oil change as well as Cost: $10.95... That must be for parts since i know the consumer price is about $22, but the first was free! Either way, the VIN is a powerful and convenient tool for dealers and us.
