heart set on a zx3, any advice?

Alright guys... my 92 mercury tracer(essentially a ford escort with a sunroof) is dying and for several months I have been researching new cars. Of course you already know, since I'm here, that I wanna get a focus zx3. I loved that little tracer and the foci I've driven are even better so that's what I want to go with. I've been lurking around here for a couple months. Any advice on buying? I'm looking for a newer(2001-up) with miles left on the warranty. Sunroof, power windows and locks, keyless entry and all that would be nice but are not mandatory. The key is that I want one under 10,000. I've seen quite a few on carmax but being in panama city fl, the closest one is in atlanta or birmingham:mad: . I have found one in florida for 9600, 21k miles, just the basics, it's a 2002. Black, if you wanna know the color:D . Does that sound pretty good? I thought so. My other question is - have you guys had experience with ford dealerships moving USED cars between dealerships for people? I have talked to them and they say they'll find me a new one and get it here if it's in fl, but I can't afford new. They wouldn't give me a straight answer on the used ones. Also any buying advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Whenever you buy a used car, its a good idea to run a carfax to make sure that it has not been in any accidents. Also I would suggest getting a '02 or newer since they have fewer problems.

I agree with hotfocus...and usually the dealership will run a carfax report for u...they older models had more recalls so if u can go with 02 or 03 that would be best...good luck

If your dealer has half a brain they'll move that car for you... business is business and though you're not taking inventory off their lot, many times they'll trade with the 'donor' dealer if you will. If they want your business, and your opinion hat they'll go the extra mile (literally!) for their customers, they should do it for ya. Good luck on getting a Focus, I'm sure you'll love it. And I agree with everyone above, 02 and up is your best bet for less recall issues.

A 2002 ior newer would definitely be good. My 2002 has been great, hasn't given me any problems. Telling the dealer that you're thinking of going to another car company should definitely get them to straighten their act up.
