Angry worst flat tire in history!

so man, what a week my focus and i have been through. when i was leaving the office last week for lunch with some friends we noticed my passenger front tire was really low. definately too low to drive on. so we took a different car to lunch. then after work was done and i was ready to go home i called up my parents to bring their focus over to the office so i didnt have to take my box and stuff out and just used their spare tire and jack. anyway, threw the spare on and went on my happy way. got the car home, parked it in the garage, went online, browsed around for some tires.

i found two yokohoma parada tires, 205 45 16, same size as my proxies, for $120. sweet deal right? i got the guy to hold the tires for me cuz i wanted to see if i could get my proxie repaired, but no tread was too low. soooo i order the paradas a day or 2 later.

thursday rolls around, haven't been driving the focus on the spare. i get home after goin out thursday nite, come in thru the garage. and i notice my driver side front tire is really low.... after closer inspection... i determined the tire was flat. great, i got 2 flats and one spare. my focus was garage ridden for a couple more days.

so the tires show up last night. i throw the focus up on jackstands, and take the rims and tires over to pep boys because they were the only ones open after 7, drop them off, and go to best buy and stuff to get some new cds. all happy im gonna have the focus back, i go back to pep boys to pick up the tires. they are too lame apparently to work with low pro tires and couldnt get the tires off the rim.

so i call my friend that works at a big o, he says he'll dismount, mount and balance the new tires for 10 bucks. sweet, i take them to him, he does the job, and i get back to my garage. throw on the driver side tire, everything goes well. then i swing around to the passenger side, start to take off the spare.... and *snap* one of the lug studs breaks off.

now im thinkin im never going to get my focus back. call up the dealer, they said 120 bucks and they cant do it till next week. now im even in a better mood. i call up another dealer they say they can do it right away and it wont be anywhere near 120. i roll over there with 3 lugs on and drop my car off. they ended up needing to replace 3 of the studs because 2 others were bent. only cost $55 now i got my car back finally!

p.s. parada's are sweet tires. like them 5x more than the toyo's

sorry for the long story just had to get it out!

hey mofocus, this is pretty much why im slackin on the short shifter man. im getting it done tomorrow for sure though so ill send the knob out by monday. if u want ill send u $25 back on paypal, the lil extra to cover for the problems. sorry man! pm me if u want

yeah it sucked. ford seems to think that the spare may have had something to do with it. but im thinking last time i got my tires rotated they over tightened the lugs or got cross threaded some how. when i used my impact gun on the lug, the nut and the stud came off almost right away.

Glad everything has worked out for you, that was mood buster for sure. Does warranty not cover replacement on your studs?

Geee, that nice to know. What is the point of even having a 3 year 36,000 miles Bumper to Bumper warranty...

Oh well at least every thing has worked out for you..

Congrats on the 6 stars...
