Anyone here ever push their Focus past the limits of stock susp. and tires?

Not sure if i have the right forum or not but here it is...

I did last night... I was bored and coming home from seeing a friend and was coming up to some sharp s-bends so I thought id see what the Focus really handled like... Ive dont these corners many times in my Stang so I know them really well.. Anywho, I had the car in third gear, not sure of the speed because I didnt want to take my eyes off the road and took the car into the corner really hard, not quite as hard as the Mustang, and halfway through the turn the back end started to slide out. Not a big deal at all since im used to that happening I drove outta the slide like a pro and made the corner without losing any speed but came to the conclusion the suspension needs to be modded!! As much fun as I have sliding the ass end around all the time, I also like to have my tires firmly planted!! Either way I was quite impressed with how the lil car handled itself!!

Anyone else push their car really hard?

yeah.... right into a mountain! but i got a new SVT front bumper, new suspension, new wheels, AND new tires out of the pakage so it's all OK i guess.

and this was on already modded suspension.

I'm kind of surprised that the back end slid out. I was under the impression that all of these cars were set up to understeer with the stock suspension.

When you drive hard into a corner and lightly brake the back end gets light and the cg interia pushes the back end out. under no braking, the front end will lose traction first, but, obviously not always the case.

Try it again in a SVT Focus and see how that does...
