Black book

This morning, I discovered my Focus ZX3 stolen from my driveway. Obviously, I have to wait a bit to see if it gets recovered. If it doesn't get recovered, then I'll be trying to get something new. Does anyone know where I can get information on the black book value? It's a 2000 with not too many options. Obviously, if it needs to be replaced, I end up with a 4 year old car still, but I'm just curious as to how much I might have to work with.

It may be black book if his insurance is determining value. Just like the dealers use.

Blue book is no good for Canadians -- I did some research about that last night. It will be insurance determining the value of the car. I really hope I get it back though. It's not really the car being gone that's upsetting since it's a thing and things can be replaced, so much as my spare key being missing as is a guy who was staying with us for a few days. Give someone a little bit of trust and when they abuse it,

BTW, I'm female.

OK Rebta, try this:
To get access to black book values, go to the toyota.ca website. Pick any car. Go to the "price your toyota "section and check "appraise trade-in".
They will take you to a secure site for the CDN Blackbook values.

It's valued anywhere from $5800-$6800CDN depending on air or auto trans.

Unfortunately, what you will find out after years of paying insurance premiums, is that the company will give you as little as possible. If the original key was used, they might deny coverage altogether.

The good news is that it is really hard to sell an intact stolen car, given that the police know who they are looking for, they will likely recover the car.

FOCUS VALUE

Go to www.autotrader.ca then do a search for your year and model and see if any are listed. You can also do a search for the value of your model on there too depending on you area of Ontario. Since you are in Toronto do your search for that area and it will give you a rough estimate. Thing is the insurance company will argue with you, so you just have to do your best to get what you think is a fair price if your car is not recovered. Good Luck

Several sources to choose from to give you an idea of value:
nada.com; edmunds.com; kelleybluebook.com or take it to any local dealer (preferably someone you know) and ask them for an appraisel. Those guys use the wholesale black books all day long.
