Question License Plate Bezel Remove ?

Why do most owners leave the dealer's bezel around their car's license plates ? Is there a law against removing the bezel ? It's unsightly. It's free/unpaid advertising for the car dealership.

No, some people are just too lazy to take them off, I took it off the first day and replaced it with a tinted cover with a small black frame, I think having nothing at all though looks a little cheap. But I know for sure there is no law reguarding it.

hey frush, if you can find a cool SVT plate (maybe a black mirror finish with SVT in the color of your cars interior) go to a Performance Shop and find the rally plate holder with the Lexan glass and water resistant gasket. I got Jessica one and its a perfect fit and looks really clean. Ill post a pic of it when I get her dads digi cam.

Speed cameras are increasingly being used here in Maryland mostly for "revenue enhancement". Is there an effective bezel/diffuser that fuzzes the license plate image when it's hit by flash photography? Is that legal?

There's supposedly a spray that You can apply to the license plate itself, to the naked eye, It's invisible, but shows up like a starburst across the plate. I doubt it's legal, but its worth looking into...

I would guess that Maryland has a similar law as we do here in MN in which it basically states that anything covering or obscuring the visibility or reflectiveness of the plate is illegal.

MA has a law about the license plates. it can not cover any of the letters or numbers on the plate. But if your inspection guy fails you for that he is just being a . to get the dealer badges off use a hair dryer and some light brake clean on a rag. do not spray the car directly. also do NOT use the brake clean while using the hair dryer. just some light heat then peel them off.use the brake clean to get the glue and the pieces. then wax where ever you used the brake clean.
