What the hell?

I'm slowly fixing up my Focus and just when it's starting to come together, someone dented up my door bad and smashed my mirror. It was sitting at my house and I noticed it after I came home from work. We have 3 cars so it was just sitting while my wife and I were at work and my son was at school. The plastic broke and there's probably a few hundred dollars at least worth of dents. I went to the dealership to see what a mirror would cost and also a driver side sun visor.

Mirror, only $60 for the whole assembly (plastic case, mirror and linkage according to the dealership). Sun visor...$80! How the hell does a plastic covered piece of cardboard with a bent metal wire and a couple pieces of hard plastic cost 20 bucks more than entire mirror?!

Ok, thanks for the number. The mirror doesn't seem too bad, but the sun visor is ridiculous. The mirror is my top priority. I have an inspection coming up in a few months and I'm turning in my lease at about the same time. The dents will have to wait. I hate having a busted up looking car. It makes it seem like I've treated the car like crap.

Just give Steve a call and see what he charges. Usually it's about 30-50% less than my local Ford dealer would charge.

I did get the mirror from the dealership, but will definitely call for a whole bunch of other things I'll need in the next few months. Sun visor, fog lights, armrest, fender(?), headlights. I'm going to try and do all of those at the same time. The mirror was a must though.
