I can't believe nobody bid on this

I guess I have a soft spot for these cars since I used to own one. This one looks ok in pics, and I like the body kit. I knew I guy a long time ago who had this body kit which is about as old as the car. The painted wipers would have to go IMO. It needs some gold BBS web wheels too.

Those older rotary engines aren't cheap to fix in those RX-7s.

The body kit kills it for me.

That's probably why no one wanted it bad enough haha

Atkins Rotary offers a rebuilt 13B for $2700 + 450 crate/shipping + 350 core. That's not bad. The engine has been swapped for the 13B from the 12A and produces 232 hp. That's not too shabby for a 2500 lb car.

Now if it was a 20B with 3 Webers that would really be something.

or 20B twin turbo or quad rotor.... haha.

I think it looks cool but maybe because I like the porsche 944 and this has the style to it.

Yeah, it was modeled after the 944, and it was from the same time era. I can't remember, but I think that's a leaf spring car. It's been so long, and I can't remember working on the rear suspension in my old one.

There was an unmodified 12A RX7 for sale in Ohio for the same price. Now that engine would cause some issues- rotor housings are no longer available.

I'm not sure if a 20B would fit in there or not. With 232 hp on a dyno from the 13B- who needs another rotor?

I have a 85 gsl-se (one with a 13b) as my Autocross toy. They are a ton of fun!! As far as engine rebuilds its much simpler than a piston motor.. People hear rotary and get scared though.

The intact 'deer horns' are worth it alone ... lol.

Very clean car but, that interior. I'm not sure I could like with maroon ever. Black and it'd be sold in a flash. ... but IIRC they didn't have black, maroon and a blueish grey was all.

Needs to be posted on GRM (grassroots motorsports)... they even have an I love '80s body kits thread (not to be confused with the box flares awsomer thread).
