when I switched to my ford racing wires, they came with that electro-grease crap on them, it ended up burning up, melting, and messing up the contacts on the plug, Id stay away from the grease s^%#, and if you get the FR wires wipe it off before install

you dont have to take the plugs out to change wires, if they are the FR wires, just snap them on and stand back and go "oooooh aaaaaaaah"

you should also keep using the stock plug gap. You only need to increase the plug gap if you swap the coil out for something like a 'screamin demon' (which is good for high hp all motor aplications). Just wires will not increase the flow enough to justify the increase. If you want to get the most out of the 9mm+ plug wires without a new coil, I'd swap out the engine's ground wires with some larger ones.
BTW: if you plan on going forced induction later, you'll actually want a cooler spark anyways, so something like 'screamin demon's' product would be a waste........(the fat wires sure do look good under the hood though, but 9mm-10mm isn't much of a visible difference.)

Q. What is my spark plug gap?
A. Zetec: 1.3 mm (0.051 inch) SPI: 1.4 mm (0.054 inch)

If you have the cash, I would replace the spark plugs so you have a fresh set of plugs and wires on your car.
You can pick up a set of 4 Autolite Platniums for under $8 at Walmart.

I would check the plugs for corrosion or burning, and replace them if they are going bad. I always unplug the negative battery cable when putting new engine parts on my car to reset the computer too. I don't really know if it's necissary with new plug wires, but it never hurts....better safe than, well, you know....
