Today my gf asked why I like hatchbacks.

Today my gf asked me "Why do you like hatchbacks so much? Just wondering."
I've heard her say before that they look like "old people's cars..." I don't think she gets it.

Anyway what are the top reasons you like hatchbacks so much?

I'm a fan of a hatch because I don't have to compromise between having a small, fuel efficient car and utility.

That being said, I also just have a visceral connection with hatches. I prefer the looks.

A Hatch maximizes interior space, like a van but on a smaller scale. A trunk is an isolated, usually dirty or cluttered area that is usefull at times, but not thought of as " livable space ". When showing someone your new car, how often do you pop the trunk and say " look at that trunk, ain't she a beauty ".

Not only are hatches over all bigger because head room is a big deal i am 6'2 and starting to not fit in some cars. But hatches handle better and can obtain a higher speed than the sedans.

Open the hatch. Push the back seats down. Grab her hand and gently pull her in. Then proceed to show her why...

The space! Im just north of 6' and dont feel like im in a tiny car. I dont really like big cars; poor gas mileage, handling, looks, parking and thats the opposite of my focus. My brother drives a towncar and the thing is the polar oposite of my focus, i just dont understand why he likes it.

My sister drives a sedan of the same year as my focus and it just feels like a smaller car.
