Want an SEL or Titanium with a manual transmission??? Better Let Ford know.

free_rider just posted the link of the Focus SE Hatchback with manual from Car and Driver's website, within the article, C&D mentions that Ford is reconsidering the manual transmission option on the SEL and Titanium models...apparently some vocal enthusiast have been making it known throughout the forums and the dealerships that they would like the manual on these models. Let's let Ford know here! If Ford would offer me a Titanium with Handling pkg, arctic white or tuscany red leather, winter pkg, sunroof and nav with the manual my 07 Accord would be traded TOMORROW!!!!

Some come on enthusiast let's let ford know that we'd at least like the option!

It would have to be the six speed MT in the upper trims, not the five speed. If I could get the manual and keep the gas mileage, it would be a no brainer for me.

with a manual i could see getting better gas milage then the auto. I know that its the dual clutch and its all fancy or whatever but i still think you could get better mileage with a standard. i think if they offered the manual in the higher levels it would sell well and alot of enthusiasts would be on board.

The EPA says that the focus standard gets worse gas milage than the auto. I know it's not a lot, but just wanted to point that out.

But the regular models with automatic transmission models, which most buyers will take, have been EPA-rated at 28 mpg in the city, 38 on the highway and 31 in combined city-highway use.

The manual transmission models may be more fun, but also will use more gas: They are rated 26 city, 36 highway and 30 combined.

Love it...now that I am used to driving a stick on the car, and on the motorcycle it is very hard to go back.

EPA numbers are pointless , i get 28 mpg with manual jetta and epa says i should get 23 mpg, i get close to 40 mpg on highway and epa says i should get 32 mpg
