An Italian for a not so Italian price.

New Fiat 500 = win. I figured this car would be priced like a mini or higher, and carry something like a 20k dollar base price. I was wrong. With a great deal of options and extensive customization this hot little italian should fly off dealer lots and be a hit. Now they just have to advertise the thing. Hope Fiat is got a ton of billboards, magazine Ads, commercials etc lined up to push in the coming months. Some of you might not think this is a good deal but considering the prices of other high end compacts and sub compacts, I think its a bargin.

Fiat 500 will start at $15,500 in the U.S.

2011 Fiat 500 – Click above for high-res image gallery

Break out your wallet and start learning Italian, the 2011 Fiat 500 configurator is attivo e funzionante! Pricing for the 500 starts at $15,500 for the base model, which is referred to as the Fiat 500 Pop. The 500 Sport is priced at $17,500 and the top-shelf 500 Lounge will cost you $19,500... before options.

We tried as hard as we could to fully outfit our "own" 2011 Fiat 500, but this little coupe has managed to differentiate itself a bit from the MINI Cooper in a very good way. Our final sticker price after ticking all the boxes? $25,236. We're sure we will be able to raise that up a few notches when the 500C cabriolet shows up. In the meantime, head on over to the Fiat 500 configurator and see what you can do with your "own" 2011 Fiat 500.

I'm pretty shocked! They didn't hit the 500 with an ugly stick. If anything they improved the design from the Euro version by removing the ugly chrome rub strips on the front bumper. This is going to offer some serious competition against the Fiesta. The only downside is that it won't have Fiesta's PowerShift transmission. Either way I can't wait to give it a test drive.

Posted via FF Mobile Itll be running the 1.4l multiair four cylinder and make somewhere around the 100 hp of the euro model and a combined fuel economy north of 40mpg. Fiat hasnt really released any official specs yet, the numbers are all speculation. An automatic will be offered as well as either a five or six speed manual. Guess well have to wait for more details. I havent gotten on the build it web site bc flash is required, so no idea what options are or anything. But if you want speed, we'll have to wait for a potential arbarth 500.

It's not as pretty up close, having seen one a few months back(Mexico plates) in white. I would drive one, but I sure wouldn't buy one over a Fiesta, but that's just Me.
