Anyone have an old V8 block laying around?

I don't really care what it was in, or if its usable. I prefer it too be cracked actually. I'm going to sand it, and paint it, and turn it into a coffee table. If anyone has any good ideas on where to get one, I'd love the input!

Something like this...

I'm also maybe thinking a cracked or ruined focus block for an end table...

It'll go great with the "new" couch. LOL I've seen that somewhere before.

I like it.

Haha, that's pretty cool. That would be sweet for like a garage area where you have a couch or something.

A company called Full Throttle Furniture makes them, but I'm guessing they aren't cheap. And I like the idea of saying I made it...

And yes Allen, they will go with that couch, thanks again!!

trashed blocks should be easy to find, rebuilders deal with them daily... a trashed alloy block like your photo might be harder. keep in mind you are going to have to pay whatever salvage value they rebuilder or whatever will get for the block; you are not going to get it for free at that kind of weight.

i would probably check with the mrs. before starting this particular project. :)

ps. i have iron amc/jeep v8 block, but you are not going to want to ship it from canada.

I don't have a misses. Just me and a buddy living in a new house he bought. The downstairs is going to be a man cave/party area, and it would be the coffee table and end table for in there.
