Just got it!

Hi.

I finally got to pick up my new (to me) 2005 zxw. Yes! It's an SES and has less than 60,000 miles. I think I got a pretty good deal at $7200. It's in pretty good condition.

Only problem is, I only have one key! Has anyone tried using the same one key twice to program a "third" key?

Next on the list is to tint the windows.

You can get your key made at Ford or any local hardware store like Home Depot/ Lowes. Congrats on your new Focus!

Pics or ban :D

^^ from what ive heard, it wont work if u get a key cut at a home depot. our keys have a chip inside em so ud hafta get it cut and then programmed. if u get a blank key and take it to a locksmith, they should be able to do it.

i only got 1 key too and i got it priced out buy a locksmith at $80 but they couldny guarantee it would work

to get it from the stealership its $120 and its guaranteed to work...

you can get a key cut without a chip and it will unlock your doors but will not start the car

thanks for the replies guys. I'll post pics once I get the car washed...It's gotta look good for the debut!

Does anyone know if each key has its own ID code? I know each key carries a chip. You can use your two programmed keys to program a 3rd. Can I trick the computer by inserting the same key twice or will it know it's the same key?
