(IE no codes given to the computer).. what could cause the light to go on and no codes be given? This car only has 60000 miles on it. It does have a small oil leaks but has oil....can someone please help!Q! Thanks

Isn't the emissions warranty good for 8 years/ 80000 miles? If so take it to a dealer and get his opinion.

That would be a different light all together actually. If you are taking it to an autoparts place to have them check for codes sometimes their equipment isn't exactly the best. You either need to find someone that has a OBD-II tool to read for codes accurately or take it to your local Ford dealership but they will charge you to run a diagnostic but it will give you exactly what you need. I know in some older cars the light would come on at 60,000 miles to remind you to take it in for servicing. Was a big pain in the ass too.

Well, the way I checked it was by holding the odometer reset button....it comes up with dtc NONE flashing......(just so you know, I am a unemployeed guy who is about to lose everything so I have no money to take it to a dealership or anywhere else) so I am trying to fix this problem on my own.....now, it does still have the orginal gas cap, though the gas cap light is not coming on.....yesterday after screw with it a little, I started getting a 262 code I see that is a injector wiring code....guess I have more to do...hehee thanks all...

Take it to an AutoZone or similiar. Most will scan for free.

I have two interviews today...would it be alright to drive the car in this condition? Again the code is DTC P0262 Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit High but it is not misfiring (or at least from what I can tell) or is "sluggish".....

I would get it scanned as soon as possible to find out what the problem is. But you may be ok to wait till tomorrow. Just get in asap so something worse doesn't happen.
