Car battery in house

I'm going to be renovating my bedroom pretty soon and I was thinking about using "car style" interior neon lighting (for ambient lighting, not primary) and I want to use a car battery to power it so that I'm not running up my electric bill.

My question is does a car battery produce any kind of fumes or other harmful conditions that need to be vented, or can I sit it in my closet and not worry about it?

Thanks

-PowerFocer

Unless your paying shit loads for your electricy powering the lighting by normal power would be a better choice.

Remember you have to factor in the cost of the battery, etc.

You will also need to recharge it every so often.

You can buy a car battery that's sealed.......actually normal car batteries do emit fumes while charging. That's why the water level in the battery goes down. You could also buy a solar charger for the battery......free power.

But the lighting you suggest, draws so little power I wouldn't even consider a battery. Buy a 12V power adapter that plugs into the wall......much cheaper setup.
