Deisel focus? ... Maybe!

I was talking to the Ford president for the west coast and he was saying that Ford is seriously thinking about marketing a Deisel Focus in the next two years! How wierd would that be!

They have the 1.8L in Europe, however I head they will be bumping it to 2.3 in the USA with a small increase in power.

nice, then the foci can really go up to the EVO n STi , cuz the EVO and STi r both suited for rallying and so are the other (better) focis but if they make a factory turbocharged focus, then shit will be better!

That would definitely make sense. In Europe every car maker has to offer diesels in their portfolio - they attribute to 40% of sales if I remember right, even Jaguar had to do it finally

For the Focus there are many diesel engine options already introduced, so the only problem would be to convince people in the US that it's ok to buy a diesel engine car

I had a escort diesel.. it was a blast to drive, and got 40-45 mpg. Would do good burnouts too lol. Now with the newer technoligy, a diesel would be great. I do beleive bigvalley was refering to a 2.3 diesel.. not the pzev engine... bigvalley.. you need to change your handle... sounds kinda bad if you know what I mean lol
