Well F[:)][:)][:)] ME!! Down but hopefully not out. (56k should be ok)

I was on the way back from Tom's after 2 days of dyno testing and tuning. Got the SVT header installed on my car and was making 122Whp and 127Wtq only to hydroplane and wreck on the way back home. AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I was driving on I-85N when it went from dry to torrential down pour. The road must of flooded within 15s. About a min into it the car started sliding to the left ( I was in the left lane at the time), I was unable to keep it from sliding or stop the hydroplane. Car slid off the road and down a hill tagging a few trees in the process. I was fine, not a scratch or nothing. The car not so much. Big dent in the DS rear quarter panel, right fender dented to hell, front bumper damaged on the PS. PS wheel was at an angle when i was looking at it. Looks like it came off the control arm, swaybar was broken, axle was broken at the cv joint. the knuckle was hanging by the strut which looked ok but it doesn't matter b/c when the towing company was pulling (dragging) the car out the wheel/knuckle ripped off and the strut was toast along with the rubber part of the brake line ripping in half.

Here's what really gets me about all this not 5 min before I wrecked a couple in a civic had the EXACT SAME WRECK, with the minor exception being that they went smack into a tree. They could not of been more than 15 feet behind me from where my car settled. They were ok too, the woman just had a small scratch on her arm. They were already out of the car when i hit, another couple in a minivan had pulled over and called for help. When the cops got there they took everyones statement and called the wreckers. The couple left w/o a ticket but I got a ticket for (and i quote) "at speed greater than was reasonable and prudent under the then existing conditions of rain" $25 fine, $121 court fee for a total fine of $146. GD police.

B/C of the holiday the car will be in lockup at the wreckers place till Tuesday and IDK when the insurance ppl will be able to get down there to take a look at it. I want to give it another assessment, I *should* be able to fix it assuming there is no frame damage (i didn't see any). I should be able to get everything i need at the local junkyards with a little bit of luck. Though I have been browsing the web for possible replacement canidates, mostly of SVT nature but we'll see about that later. This also means prolly no carlisle but we should be back up by FocusFest.

Attached are some pic's for your cringing pleasure, which should of loaded at this point for all you people out there still rockin' dialup. Enjoy.

Any thoughts on how I should proceed will be greatly appreciated thanks again.

I feel your pain man. Although my car isn't as bad, A deer hit me on my passenger side last night on my way home from a friend's house. I need both passenger side doors and fender. I'm hoping they don't total my car though. Best of luck to you man, I hope everything gets fixed.

I was doin' about 70 when the storm hit. Limit on the road was 70 so i wasn't speeding. storm just came out of nowhere.

Tom:
yea i might rebuild it. it all depends on how much the insurance is going to give me for the car and weather or not the frame is bent. If the frame is bent then im just gona get it back and part it out for some extra money to buy a new one. If everything moves quickly i might be able to make carlisle still but i doubt it at this point. if i have to get another one i have been looking at some SVT's that are in pretty good shape.

Thanks for the support all.
BTW i added the pics finally.
