Im so excited! My sister is gettin a fofo! need things to look for at the dealership.

So i talked with my sister this morning and she told me she had $6500 to drop on her first car, so i suggested a focus, and she loved the idea! I found her one thats pretty close, so we are gunna go check it out on saturday. Its a 2004 white sedan SE for $6.5k. Its a automatic zetec and its got 42,697 miles on the odo. So, since im rockin the duri, what are some things I should look for when lookin at this car. I know general things like body damage, and im gunna take a look at the undercarriage and the engine, as well as take it on a thorough test drive. Anything else I should keep in mind? Loud, im kinda lookin for suggestions from you since she is basically buying your car in stock form.

My personal favorite thing to look at is the hood bolts. If they show paint damage or marking from being removed then move on, the car has been in an accident. Unless it is serious enough to effect the title an accident will never show up on a car fax report. There is almost no good reason why the hood should ever have been removed.

If I were you I would take someone along and have them ride in the back seat. My brother had an issue with that one time; car had been in an accident and there was a subtle wobble in the backseat to show it. Too bad the guy failed to tell my brother this, haha..

You should be able to find a newer focus for that price...at least an 05 like the one you own.

Don't even think about SAAB. It's a Scandinavian body with GM parts in it. Beside the engine, there is nothing good to say about that car.

Take your time and search as long as you can. Last week we sold 2006 ZX4 with 55K for $6,500
