I went from Mustang GT to '09 Focus

I know people will think I'm nuts but I don't regret it at all. I had an '08 GT 5spd that was relegated mostly to weekend duty.
This meant hauling my dogs to the dog beach and trails, running errands..etc and occasional commuting. I have 2 paid for sportbikes and they do most of the commuting here in San Diego.

Well the Stang was impulsive buy and I didn't have a car at the time but the Stang (for me) sucked for:
-getting the dogs in/out with tiny back seat
-city driving/parking lots....drives like a drunk hippo at those speeds...just feels real heavy and you sit low.
-gas mileage-18mpg if I was nice to it.

Also Stang had a 2nd-3rd gear grind when cold...TSB supposedly only fixes it for a few months according to other posts I've read.

So dealer gave me what I owed on the car (and I had put nothing down...just been making payments) which was much more than the trade in value.
But as a result gave me no break on the Focus...so I paid full MSRP for my '09 SE with auto, synch, and the driver’s group package (wrapped steering wheel, cruise..etc) which was 18500.

I should have never bought the Mustang but this Focus is so much easier to live with for what I need it for. I love the smaller size and the way it drives vs the Mustang which felt like a tank. It was fun at first but then I really missed having a smaller car.
Granted I have 2 very fast motorcycles so my need for speed is satisfied there for sure.

Anyway wanted to buy American still and I really like my new Sterling Grey Focus. Looking forward to good mpg's again too! I’m impressed by the latest Focus.

I agree, so many poeple thing "Mustang cool!"

But you gotta think real life, especially if its your main car.

Just todl a guy he shouldn't be buying a new Challenger. Has a caliber wants a challenger wife has a kid wants to get rid of a caliber and take a loss on it.

I told him to keep the Caliber, pay it off have a family vechilie and then get a Challenger because a challenger really needs to be a 2nd car, just like a mustang.

Lol...me, I'm not embarassed if I had to take the bus...much less a Camry. Could care less about image but I'm 39...way past all that.
