Pliers would prob work best on that, being plastic and all.

They do unscrew and when you screw them on or push them on, they cut in to the plastic bolts that are part of the side marker lights. Use pliers to take them off. It's pretty simple.

are you talking about the little silver things that look like washers but are kinda star shaped in the center, the sae thing used to hold the rear splash shield in place? if so they're not really nuts, they simply push on retainers. however they are tricky to get off. all you have to do is get 1 side raised and then pop them off. i think best tools would be a flat blade screw driver and a pair of pliers or channel locks.
