F.O.R.D (F)ix (O)r (R)epair (D)aily Is no longer true !!!!!!!

Wassup, The title says it all
I had to post this thread because of all the negativity. Here is a bit of extremely positive news . From all places Consumer Reports. A magazine that I've hated for years because they swear to be unbiased. However, all Consumer Reports seems to do is bash Domestic vehicles. You will find In big bold letters Ford leads the domestics "Ford's reliability is now on par with good Japanese automakers." Hence, Fix or Repair Daily is finally dead. I wonder how all the Domestic haters are going to respond to this article.

What do you all think ???

As a mechanic at a ford dealer I can say for a fact that they are building a much better product. Warranty work has dropped to a mere fraction of what it was 5-6 years ago. As a fan of ford that is great for me. As a mechanic it seems that job security is fading somewhat...lol.

I've always thought of it as "Found On Roadside Dead".......except mine of course. I'm sure the dead yellow Focus I passed the other day was the fault of the owner......

Which is why I'm glad I bought Ford stock at $2 although it hasn't gone up much since, but I know the day is coming for them before it will come for ChryCo or GM.

All they need to do is bring over a small TDI option, but not make the mistake they made with the early high pressure electronic injection Powerstrokes that cost so much under warranty because nobody was trained to work on it. I can understand Ford's fear of diesels, but I don't understand why they appear to have given up.

Woot, about time lmao. But, I was at a ford dealership yesterday, and had to go thru the garage to get to my buddys suv, and there was a BRAND NEW f250, still had stickers and all, tore down... I mean heads pulled, the whole nine yards. I asked about it and the guy didn't know. I took some pics tho lol.

Don't worry too much about your job. My 2008 SES (7000 miles) just had the transmission valve body replaced. The car is six months old. I wouldn't call that on par with Japanese quality....

Ford is coming back thats for sure.....or maybe its just that the other automakers are slacking lol. Oh and ChrisYMQ, thats cause they still using the same garbage 4speed auto they've been using since the dinasours were around. Once that is in the trash can I suspect Ford automatics will be less problematic.

The end of the decade will be Fords rebirth....we have a bunch of awesome high quality cars coming over from europe. The fiesta is awesome, the new focus is coming as well as some of the variations like the kuga suv. Merc is supposly going to be rebaged Ford europe products, for example the mondeo. Lincoln is doing pretty well, and the new 09 MKS is one sick auto. It is very very nice, and the features are great. It'll be even nicer when it becomes the first to get ecoboost, another Ford option that will turn it around. Also, if diesel picks up here in the states thanks to our german buddies, then I suspect ford will bring over their diesel powerplants. Ford would be king again if they brought over the focus and fiesta econetic models, which are turbo diesels that get 55mpg(focus) and 65mpg(fiesta) city.
