Exclusive Detail.....The intro to my ZX3

Hey guys, I have been roaming the posts for over a month now gathering info on a car I was thinking of buying.....the ZX3

I decided to go with the ZX3 because I needed a car with good gas mileage.
I also had to get a hatchback because I play alot of hockey and needed to lug my stuff around. I play goalie so my bag is HUGE 24x24x44.....needless to say my bag wont fit in most cars. The ZX3 was a perfect fit.

I live in St. Louis MO so I was searching ebay, craigslist, and auto trader looking for the right car at the right price.

I finally struck a deal with a guy in chicago for a 2001 with 88000 miles on it for $2500 cash. I was very happy with the deal.

It is dark blue. The exterior has a small dent in the hood that Im going to pull and a tiny on on the hatch, but its in pretty good shape. The interior is in great shape, but I need the rear carpet for the back....it was ruined by a spill and the guy had an svt mat in the back.

My first purchase this week was the full SVT suspension kit from hillbish ford....I called up mike and he really knows his stuff! I got this because the shocks and struts are done one the car and I got the kit shocks & springs for 280....minenake was quoting me 300 just for the shocks and struts, so it was a no brainer upgrade.

OUTSIDE....

I am putting the last coat of clear on blacking out my tail lights and front grill.

I am thinking of color matching my exterior trim, but want to see it with the windows tinted first. That is getting done in the morning.

I have the factory 16in 6 spoke. I actually like the wheel design, so it will probably stay stock till spring, but im thinking of painting them (or powdercoat) a gunmetal with color match inserts on the spokes. or color match the whole wheel with a silver lip. Or I might just get new ones in the spring.

The back 3 windows are going to be 5% tint and the front will be 20% with a tint strip.

Im also putting my business sticker on the back window. In silver.

INTERIOR

I am removing the back seat......just the seat part. I am going to build a platform to make the back flat...even with the seats folded down.

I just got a great deal on 2 alpine V12 amps. One is a mono amp 500w the other is a 4 channel...cant remember the watts but its nice.

I picked up 4 polk momo's off brads wrecked car for 90 bucks and the things are almost brand new!...by the way brad is a great guy to buy from!

I think I am going to pick up the MTX thunderform box off ebay for 240 shipped, but I haven't heard any feedback. I want that box because I need so much room in the back and it looks great. Ill probably switch out the sub because my amp dominates it.

I haven't completely decided on the amp placement (suggestions welcome)
but im thinking about taking out the spare and putting the mono in there.....im just worried about over heating. Im almost positive the 4 channel is going under the passenger seat.

Its already got an alpine head unit so I didnt have to worry about that.

Thats pretty much all im doing. This is not a race car. I will not be doing any performance mods. This is just my gas saver.

I just want it to look nice and have a good system.

The day after I got it I flushed the transmission and radiator, put in plugs, wires, and coil pack. new oil new motor mounts.

Im really excited about the find. For under 3600 total Ill have a great car fixed up my way (the right way)....minus wheels...With only 88000 miles in great shape.

Well guys I know that was long.....but thats my car.....oh...i will get pics next week after the suspension is in and it gets my 10 stage buff!
