Trying to find a cheap focus but having a hard time

I'm looking for an 04-06 Focus with less than 65k miles and a NON LX. I cannot live without power windows/locks.

I only want to spend $6000 maybe $6500 if it's a ZTS or SES.

I saw an 05 ZX4 SES on the DC craigslist last week, 50k miles for $5500. And I missed it! It would 22 minutes after the owner put the ad up.

Currently I'm looking at an 04 Focus Zx3 in new jersey with 61k miles for $5500. Clear title. (I think the CD changer is broken though). Problem is it's an auto so I may pass on this.

Ahh! Why is it so hard to find a 2004+ manual focus for $6000!

Btw, at what year did they fix the ignition lock cylinder problem so you no longer have to DIY

I know. I did it on the 03 ZTS I had. Man I should've kept that car. It had 62k miles and I sold it for $6200.

I went through HELL finding a LOADED ZX3 with a manual transmission in my price range. I didn't even care about color much, but I could not find one and I looked for weeks. Then, lo and behold, my wife got on the Akron Craigslist one night and there it was; bright blue, loaded, 5 speed manual, sunroof, 88,000 miles, and only thirty minutes from my house. I called the guy IMMEDIATELY and said DO NOT SELL THIS CAR!!!!
2 days later, it was in my driveway :)

I know what you're going through. I was looking for a decent daily driver, from '00 - '02 with 100k miles or less for less than $3k. The car HAD to have A/C and cruise control, that was the only requirements. People were asking over $3k for an LX with 100k miles....LOL

I found what i was looking for, an '02 SE for $1700. Be patient and keep your eyes open.
