Temporary Focus owner....

Hey all!

I wanted to start off by introducing myself and letting you know why I'm here.

I recently acquired a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS 4 door that is silver in color. It has a Mach 460 or something sound system, HID headlights, and kinda cool looking seats.

The reason I say I'm a temporary owner is because it is my brother's car and he has decided to leave it with me for the time he is deployed to Iraq. He has been on many deployments. We both are military (I'm U.S.M.C. and he's in the U.S.A.F.). He left the car with me because he knows I'm going to get some things done for him this time around. The last few times it was left with our parents, his wife, etc. But they did not finish or even get started, for that matter, on his 'to-do' list.

So now I'm taking care of the essentials and a few other fun things with his car. He says it will be like sending his car to 'Pimp my Ride' but it won't come back riced out!

The list looks like this so far:

Essentials:
- 4 new tires . . . Done
- New brakes
- Renew his license plate . . . Done
- Tune up
- Investigate a popping noise from under the car . . . Done

Extra things he wants done:
- CD / Mp3 player . . . Done
- Cold Air Intake . . . no need, gonna turbocharge!!! suggestions on kits? Tom?
- Headers . . . no need, gonna turbocharge!!! suggestions on kits? Tom?
- Exhaust . . . about to order a trubendz 3" to maximize his turbo
- Window Tint . . . Done

Extras I'm gonna do cuz I he's my lil brother:
- Shorty Antenna . . . Done
- Re-clear his headlights . . . Done
- Either smoke his taillights or buy him new taillights . . . Done
- Full Detail
- Custom speakers, subs, amps, wires, and trunk set-up . . . All done except for sub, box, and trunk dynamat
- Color matched door handles (I think Mazda Tribute handles work)
- Color matched side view mirrors

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. The majority of this will be done by me. I'm a big DIY'er and have done a lot to my Evo and to my many bikes.

Also, I've taken some before pics and will hold off posting them until I am finished with the list and am about to turn the keys back over to him, so you guys and girls can see the transformation of this car.

I hope I haven't put you to .

Welcome and very nice of you to do this.
I would pm b16sir1991 on the SVT header with the Borla Exhaust.
Get TYC tails.

And shorty antennas are alright.
Also debadge that cute ZTS booty.

Good luck!!!

X2! SVT header is by far the best choice. You will need to pick up a High-flow cat or off-road pipe and flexpipe for an SVT for the header conversion to be complete. It is not a simple bolt-on, the kit has a revised oilstick, revised EGR tube, and you will need to reroute the power steering line cause it will be too close to the SVT header.

Borla is definitely the best sounding exhaust for the Focus, being a sedan you will have to modify the kit slightly. It comes in three pieces, you will need to add about 6" of piping between the 2nd and 3rd pieces.

So, if the Focus is the lil bro's, what do you drive?

CKA, I laugh every time I see your avatar.

If your going to do CAI, header, and exhaust ,you should put a 65mm TB on it and get it tuned for the mods by Tom at Focus-Power.

Can anyone recommend some good brake pads for the Focus? What about spark plugs?

Hawk HPS with Brembo solid rotors.

Have you thought about the SVT brake swap yet? The front rotors and calipers are larger, and it provides for the the conversion of rear drums to disks. You can get the complete kit with EVERYTHING that you need for about $950 from CFM. Call Mike at Hilbish Ford (he has a forum on here) to get a MUCH better price on the kit though. The SVT brakes are much better than the original brakes, and will fill up the wheels a lot better too.
