Unhappy Why fatigue and driving don't mix.

It happend at around 04:30 this morning. My girlfriend was coming home from work, fell asleep at the wheel, went into a ditch, and flew into a tree. She had a mild concussion and some scrapes and bruises, but she's okay. Something similar happend to me a few years ago (instead I hit the rear end of a Silverado pulling into his driveway with my Mazda B2200 doing about 60). So the brand new 2007 Kia Rio we've had since October is now totaled.

Dang! I didn't realize the car was that new! And the main thing is that she's okay. Cars be damned. It also looks like the KIA did exactly what it was supposed to do... crumble to protect the driver.

Yep...I noticed that the side curtain airbags didn't go off...I guess that requires a side-impact.

And we just paid the note on it two days ago too.

I'm getting a $1,000 civic! It'll be nice not having a $350 note anymore.

We'll go back to the way things were before. We got the Rio becuase the Foci engine need replacing and we didnt know when we were going to get it back. So now I'll go back to driving my heavy Chevy (in dire need of a rebuild; it gets like 12-15 MPG ) and she'll drive the FoFo.
