Opinions of Engine in 05 Focus

I'm looking at an 05 Focus. I had a Focus with the split port engine. The 05 has a completely different type engine. What are your opinions of this engine? Thanks

Well the s,se, and ses all come with a 2.0 Duratec and the ST comes with a 2.3 Duratec. I own an ST and my sister owns an SES with an ATX. The ST is pretty darn quick right out of the box with its bigger motor and 5 speed. My sisters with the 2.0 is also pretty quick. I was quite impressed. It shifts smoothly and is powerful. I have never driven a focus with the Zetec engine, split port or otherwise so I wouldn't know how to rate them against that but I love the Duratec platform. Very nice motors.

Thanks, guys, for the input. I was happy with my split port...never had a problem. Sounds like the Duratec is a good one, too.

I think you will notice a big difference when you go to test drive one.
