so when are we gonna see the 1.6l, 150hp, four-cylinder or the 2.5l, 260hp, four-cylinder in our focuses, prolly never which really sucks. cuz then the focus would be looked at as a worthy vehicle...

Those teaser pics look GREAT - maybe Ford is serious about turning things around (they'd BETTER be).

hmm this is interesting, id love to see it with a1.8t or a 2.5 that puts out more power and better economy, i think if it has good power and sells for about what a camry does i think it can take the sedan as top dog

well i think this is actually going to be the beginning of them prob phazing the foci out. if they have 3 different motors, and i would imagine 5 different trims, then i think if this is going to be a econimical, fast and cost efficient i am sad to say but we might be losing the foci.
but i hope they dont, but thats what i am thinking they r going to do.
i would get the 1.8t cause a 2.5 just wouldnt have any room to do anything and i bet th 1.8 will have a mess load more mods, hell look what vw is doing with theirs

im gonna follow up on what ZX32nr said before me. it is interesting they will offer a smaller 4 cyl. engine, but i believe instead of simply phasing the current focus out, they will either reduce it (in order to compete with Fit, Versa, yaris, etc.) or they will move it up a notch such as the current Honda civic which is basically a midsize car and once was VERY compact. run it ike the civic and accord (fusion being the accord) or corolla and camry. i dont see them completely phasing out the focus, its sales are too high for them to lose. the new car being fiesta? that would work. it worked for toyota and nissan and honda and..... well you get what i mean. i guess only time will tell

Anyone else see something amiss here?

Focus --> 1 powertrain

Fusion --> 5 powertrains

I thought Ford hammered us down to 1 to cut costs???

In one ear, out the other.

I would love to see the 2.5L in it. If a turbo was put on that motor, it would be a monster. Ford should revive SVT and do something like that. I would love to see what they could do with the Fusion. I really like the looks of the car to begin with.

GO GREEN GO GREEN!! BUY A HYBRID!!!

Or.... Ford and other carmakers can be smart and stop being douchebags and start introducing diesel engines in cars. now THAT would flip the North American car market on its ear. But, I guess Ford isn't known for their bold moves. It's a shame really.
