Who says an Evo is faster than an SRT4?

We went to the track yesterday, and my Slowcus ran a 15.9 woot. lmao

Anyways, A guy in an srt-4 was talkin shit and another guy with an evo told him theres no way his srt-4 would beat him. Needless to say, the srt-4 ran a 13.7 and the evo ran 13.8.

The evo didnt really stop and chit chat afterwards, he got his slip and went home. im a big fan of the evo, but that was pretty funny.

well in all honesty either car CAN be faster then another just due to the fact that the drivers skill is the most important thing about a cars performance. Plus the evo is AWD which makes it launch better only if you are willing to drop the clutch at high revs (anyone knows that will destroy a clutch in no time). But bottom line, those two cars are even until it gets to the twisties (which IMO truely shows a drivers skill).

Eh, with both perfect drivers the evo would kill it both drag and road course.. hell even in the dirt, lol The guy in the Evo prob couldnt drive well, but that sounds like a good time for a Srt-4 arent they said to go 14?.

remember, if it is a second year SRT-4, it has 230hp and 250lb/ft (rated); an Evo has 271hp and 273lb/ft; thats not much of a difference; also, an Evo is 3100lbs, but an SRT-4 is only 2880; 230lbs and 20-some hp and lb/ft less could help explain it

um... according to the numbers you posted, it looks like 40 some hp, not 20 some....

besides the AWD of the evo would have an impact. as others have stated, the best explination is a modded srt4 and a bad driver in the evo.

oops, crap. Guess those math skills show why I'm in college...anyway, when put on a dyno (by Sport Compact Car) a SE-R Spec-V made 141 hp at the wheels (with 175 at the crank); the SRT-4 made 223 hp at the wheels. Me thinks that Dodge underrated its little rocket

SRT4 has 260 to 270 hp at least. They put down 230+ at the wheels. The ones with the LSD will run 13.9 stock if driven well. The ones w/out will run 14's.

I don't care how fast it is. As a high performance car the SRT has nothing on the EVO.
