Need some advice.

Hi guys,
I'm currently living in the UK & Germany, and I am planning on moving to america(Florida) in the near future (Max next 2years) and I don't want to leave the car behind. The problem is that I own a MK2 Focus St the one you guys really want but ford want give you (*ers) and I want to import it when I finally make the move I know all your bumper (fender) regulations and emissions are all different to ours in the UK. Can anyone tell me how I would find out if I need to change anything mechanically and exterior wise to make this particular model road legal in the states.#

Thanx in advance.
Ken

When I was stationed in Germany, I looked into shipping back a german spec BMW. Because of the DOT and EPA changes that would have to be made, it would be cost restrictive to attempt the change. Not only that, forget about any warrenty protection. Dealerships call these types of cars as "Gray Models" and refuse to work on them because that's one less car that was sold stateside. I ended up buying an American Spec Beemer before is left and brought it over with no problem.

Hmm. Will keep looking into this then. I have a couple of years before it actually happens so things will probably change by then again. Hopefully in my favour. Surely ford should be able to advise me if the car will pass the curretn bumper and emissions regulations?

Honestly, I would just get the car back to the states however I could. Then I'd worry about all the legal crap. I'm certain I could find some way to register and insure it so I could drive it without problems.
