Found a focus i'm intersted in buying.

its a 2003 focus zx3. it's got 30,525 miles on it. 2.0L 5speed any opinions on this car.

sticker price is right under $7,000

to me it seems like a pretty good deal but i don't know much about these cars.

i'm going to go check it out tomorrow at the dealership. anything i should particular look for besides the usual when buying a used car (leaks, tires, ect.)

thanks a lot.
and i hope to frequent this forum very often if i get this car. it seems like there is a ton of very helpful info!

That is exactly what I have only with less than half the miles. I say go for it. I love my car.

Sounds like a decent price. If it was me, I would try and find a '03 with the 2.3 Duratec. IMO, (though I am biased owning two 2.3's), the Duratec is head and shoulders above the 2.0 Zetec.

Don't misunderstand me, the 2.0 Zetec is a good true & tried motor, with alot of after market support. But between the two, the Duratec totally out performs the Zetec. It also has a decent amount of after market support....

well to be honost, i'd love to have a faster car, but i really need to find a reliable daily car very soon. i just put airbags on my truck so i don't really trust going to school and work everyday with that so i'm just looking more for a reliable car to drive.

i'll probably throw an underdrive pulley on this focus if i get it and maybe a few other small things, but i'm not real worried about how fast it is. that'll only get me in more trouble. i don't need any more speeding tickets.

i guess i'll see how it picks up speed when i test drive it. one thing i don't want is a car that takes the whole on ramp to get to speed. my girlfriend has a 4door focus that has a 2.3 and that gets up good enough for me so i figure the smaller 2 door with a 2liter should be about the same.

we'll see.

Seems a little high but it is a low mile car.

It's a fair price for that mileage. The 2.0 Zetec is a lot more flexible than the 2.3 Duratec as far as modifications go. It's a good little car, great gas mileage, it'll be slow if you leave it stock but if you're just looking for a reliable daily driver then who really cares?

Do some bolt ons (exhaust/intake, maybe header/UDP/chip) and you'll be in good shape.

You could get the 2.3 Duratec in select PZEV models in green states in 2003 & 2004 as a ZX3, LX sedan and wagon.
