Carbon fiber batteries

If your a big carbon fiber fan these batteries have your name written all over it. I found the lightest batterie they sell is 6lbs 6ozs @ 527 cranking amps. FYI if you think optiam batteries are pricey the cheapest price of these are $180. here's the site http://braillebatteries.com

It looks like just the top is carbon. I doubt that would save much weight over a plastic top. Different though

if you look at the full specs, thats not the cca which is far more determinate of batter quality than pulse. the battery likely only has about 200 cca. not even sure about reserve either...i'll stick with my heavy, powerful battery until someone comes up with a lightweight battery with 900 cca and 135 rca (reserve capacity) as thats what my current battery has.

6lbs, 6oz?! That'd sure help out the front-drive weight imbalance...been thinking about a battery relocate to the trunk, probably still would rather do that than get a battery with only 200cca...I drove with 250lbs of crap in the back about a month ago, and it felt a lot more balanced on cloverleafs and the like.

all the weight in a battery comes from the lead used to make the electricity, not from the plastic housing... heck, wouldn't a plastic housing be lighter than a CF one?

Yeah, I think its just for looks, as I have handled empty cases without the lead and they weigh almost nothing.
