SVT vs. Duratec

I have a 04 SVT FF and my Nephew has a 2006 Duratec FF and he keeps saying he thinks his is faster than my SVT, but we havent tested his theory yet. I was wondering if anyone had any 0-60, 1/4 mile #'s to compare the differneces?

if he has an ST with the 2.3 liter, he is like 15.7 - 16.2 in the quarter mile and 7.7 - 8 seconds to 60 mph. A SVT is like 15-15.5 in the quarter with a 7-7.5 second to 60. A ST will come out of the hole faster cuz it has low gearing and low end torque but a SVT will beat one stock for stock especially up top. Now somebody lock this thread before it turns into another ST vs. SVT thread.

If you're just interested in straight line, if he has the 2.3 it'll either be very close or he'll come out slightly ahead...the SVT's 6-speed gearbox isn't very good at drag racing, but on the other hand you'll destroy him in pretty much any other race type unless he has extensive mods. The SVT has better suspension and brakes, and its transmission is ideally suited for autocross and road course.

he ST will smoke the svt because i have one. No, i am just kidding the svt will beat the st, and that is comming from a guy who has raced an svt stock for stock. however if he has a few mods it will be a good race, but no garantee he (the st) will win
