Accident for Me.

Ok so last night I was backing out of a covered parking spot and looking over my right shoulder. I instinctively started turning when BAM, I scraped the driver's side door, ripped the side mirror off and my fender caught the pole bending it outward about 2 inches. It sucked, I almost started crying I was so pissed. So, now my question is, if I call insurance, will my premiums go up? Hopefully not. I have farmer's.

Yeah, your insurance will probably go up, since you messed up, it'll be a "collision" claim. You blew it, your insurance will penalize you for making a mistake.

You could also commit insurance fraud and say that someone whacked your car in which case it would be a "comprehensive" claim and your insurance would probably not go up, unless you do this sort of thing all the time.

Your best option now is to first figure out what your deductable is, second, get a couple of estimates on the repairs then decide whether you want to bring your insurance into the mix. If the damage is more than you can afford without your insurance, contact your insurance agent and discuss what would be your best plan. He might say "Well it's a $1000 fix but I'll double your insurance for the next five years and we'll get ten times that amount out of you" Or he might say "Everyone screws up once in a while, we'll take care of it, don't worry about the premiums."

Sorry about your car bruise, it sucks but it also happens.

my advice, don't go through insurance. See if you can get some parts out of a junk yard for cheap and dIy or pay somebody.

My deductable is 500. I'm gonna go to Ford on like Monday and get an estimate and then call my agent and see what he says. If it's gonna go up at all, I'm gonna say screw it and go to the pick apart yard and save up to paint it.

If it's less than 500 dollars in damage, then you shouldn't even bother calling your agent.

3 months ago, I got a bit of a bruise after hitting a concrete wall at about 10MPH.

The estimaes I got for repairs and paint ran about $1300.

So, balance that against your deductable an how much your rate will increase.
